Summer is off to a wonderful start! I love staying up late and sleeping in even later. Laying by the pool all day isn't so bad either.

I attended my first ever "grown up" party on monday and it was an eye-opening experience. It was fun at times and seeing everyone drunk was rather enjoyable.Getting hit on by drunk guys is always fun! ::sarcasm:: I ended up getting home by 12:30 and going back to pick up Allison at 7 in the morning.

Today: I went to lunch with David (a.k.a. the greatest guy in the world) at Applebee's. Our waitress neglected to tell me that strawberry lemonade didn't come with free refills and I had to pay $0.50 :o(. Lunch was kept entertaining because we people watched out the window. And then we went to starbucks where the wierd guy scared me and made me want to leave. He also had better hair than I will ever hope to have! I went to Bellacinos tonight after work and Romy gave me a discount cuz she's the best ever!

Tomorrow: Maybe I can lay by the pool and work on my tan!

      Wow. It's Friday and the day before I graduate highschool. I am a little nervous and scared but mostly excited. It's hard to believe that I am already a senior and I'm getting ready to embark on this whole new chapter of my life. It seems like just yesterday I walked into Riverdale as a freshman and the seniors seemed so old and grown up then. And on Tuesday I walked out of it ready to graduate, but suddenly I didn't feel very old or grown up. Some of my best memories so far were made inside the halls of Riverdale. RHS brought some of my favorite people into my life and it also took some of them away.

         Highschool had its ups and downs for me, but mostly ups. I had a lot of friends and generally I had an amazing time. I didn't give into peer pressure while I was in highschool and that is something that I am very proud of. I am glad that summer is almost here because it is going to give me some time to reflect on what is coming up in August. I am scared of letting myself lose touch with people. Normally I am really good at making the effort and staying in touch so I am probably over analyzing and stressing for no reason.

       I was reading over what people wrote in my yearbook and it made me incredibly happy and insaneley depressed at the same time. Some of these people I have had the pleasure of knowing since kindergarten and I may never see them again after Saturday night. Some people have been one of my best friends for 8 years. Others I have only known a short time and maybe a class brought us together or something else. Either way I have come to look at seeing them as a constant and I'm going to miss them so much next year.

     I was moved by reading what people wrote, but Mrs. Taylor's touched me more than anything. She was my favorite teacher this year and probably ever. She is one of those teacher's that truly cares about her student's and what is going on in their lives. I learned some real life lessons in her class.

     Everyone should come out and see the class of 05 walk across the stage tomorrow night! Be there!

Hmm...where to begin? Let's start with all the controversy that xanga has stirred up lately. First off, I realize that xanga is a public space and should be used for people to express their opinions in the way that they see fit. However, because everyone has opinions we aren't always going to agree on everything. My opinion is that certain people can come off as condescending when they are expressing their views on controversial subjects. I also feel like no one is perfect and while they don't claim to be, they should just remember that they themselves have faults before condemning others.

As for the biblical side of things: The Bible can and should be interpreted by everyone. Again, this means that people are going to have differing views on God's word. Including King James. I have very strong views on the subject of homosexuality because I have close ties to several people that are. I don't feel that they are in the wrong because I don't feel like they "choose" to be that way. I also don't think that God hates them or that they are going to eternally burn.

As for alcoholism...wow that one hit close to home. My father is an alcoholic and while it is bad behavior and not something I condone at all. I look at it as a disease and not as a sin. Much like people don't choose to get cancer I don't think people choose to become alcoholics.While they choose to begin the drinking process they don't choose to follow through and sometimes they are unable to stop.

 As for the abortionists...I am pro-choice. While I myself would not have an abortion...who am I to tell others that the choice to do so is wrong? There are so many factors involved in that process: most importantly the circumstances.

The anger that I feel towards this entire situation has culminated over a long period of time and this was the last straw. There are so many ncidents that I can't even being to describe them all.

Perhaps most importantly: If people don't know the situation...the entire situation then they shouldn't pretend too. While they may know bits and pieces they don't know the bulk of the situation and the impact that it is having. However, they do have the right to express their opinions (as everyone does) on the matter, they should just get as many facts as possible.

    I am so happy right now! Today was regional DECA competition and Allison, Alyssa, and I found out that we made it to state yay!! Along with pretty much everyone else at Riverdale! Good job guys! Just make sure we don't wear any Riverdale apparel or tell anyone where we go to school, because we don't want to get jumped!
